A tune that has opened many Gavin Lazarus sets over the years, ‘Love Ain’t Sweeping The Country’ has finally made it through the production process!
Recording began in 2020 as it was intended to open the album ‘Don’t Mind If I Do” .
It got bumped down the line again when “Living Is Easy (Life Is Hard)” became the opening track of the 2023 album “Are You Alive”
It remained the live show opening track however and has found it’s rightful place as the lead out single of the 2025 album “Too Weird To Love”
The title was inspired by the George & Ira Gershwin song “Love Is Sweeping The Country” but the comparison with those wonderful esteemed composers ends there as the subject matter and musical style are entirely different. the album it leads out covers a number of aspects of the challenges of modern living, and at a time where rifts and division via social media are rampant it seems a good and apposite starting point now.
